Leaving your smell on my coat/leaving your taste on my shoulder

Well, hi again :) Sorry it's been forever... you know what happens when you start complaining about how the only thing you ever do is watch TV and go on the internet? You lose your cable for 2 weeks! And then you really have nothing. Actually what happened is we got an entertainment center built into our living room, so they disconnected the TV (therefore disconnecting the internet) - then we decided to get a new TV/surround sound/etc which took forever, then we had to get it all installed, also taking forever, blah blah blah... basically I spent the last 2 weeks sharing the one TV in the den with my entire family, yay :)

Anyway! Wow I have so much to catch up on... Well, the losing weight thing has been going okay. I started at 161.5 so that's not cool, but on Monday I was down to 155.5 -> -6 lbs for week one, which is really good. I haven't been exercising at all this week though... I just didn't think it really mattered, but now I'm thinking maybe it does, so I might have to reinstate the running & pilates... :(

It's so hard not to get obsessed with this! You'd think it would help to focus completely on losing weight, but I think it makes it a little harder somehow. I really don't do anything else... Anyway, I think I'm finally getting to the place where I look at it like an everyday thing, not something that I can start over with next week or whatever, which is so much better. It's never going to be easier to lose weight than it is right now, you know? Not that it's easy (ha, for real) but you know what I mean. It's not like some strict diet or something that I'm going to give up on in a week is what I mean...

Last Sunday was John Mayer! Oh my God yeah that was one of the better days of my life for sure! :) So first of all I got invited to the soundcheck, which was so cool. So I had to drive down there by myself (like 45 minutes... it's literally 3 exits north of Mexico, actually lol) but then they took us in and we sat floor center (maybe 10 rows back, which is lame, but whatever) and John said hi... they worked on "Come Back to Bed" for awhile, getting ready for Jay Leno on Monday. They also played "Clarity" (<3333) and a really pretty song that could've been a cover, but I think it was just new, very cool. And the highlight would have to be "She Will Be Loved" (by Maroon 5 <- opened the concert).. So he played it like all lounge-singer/Harry Connick Jr/Frank Sinatra-ish, with the piano bar style, Brooklyn accent, etc. It was really, really funny - he took the mic out of the stand and like, worked the stage w/ these looks, changed the lyrics so they were all dirty... :) And then Adam Levine (lead singer of Maroon) came onstage and laughed @ John... oh and then John introduced a guy in the band "on jazz flute" (from Anchorman, which kinda became the theme of the night, as we're in San Diego here, Adam opened w/ "Go fuck yourselves, San Diego!" lol).. yeah, it was really, really awesome, so glad I went. :)

Then the concert that night was so great too - our seats were so good, floor to the right, 4 rows back! Maroon 5 was amazing, of course John was unbelievable... He played "Why Georgia" for me :) and I got acoustic "Comfortable" in the encore, ahhhhh! Lots of his lyric changes, which I love... "She keeps a tampon at my place" instead of toothbrush in "City Love", "But you could distinguish me from Jack Johnson" in "Comfortable" (instead of Miles from Coltrane), etc.

So yeah, that's been my last couple weeks, promise to update more now that I actually have an internet :)

"If I be so inclined to climb up beside you,
Would you tell me that the time just isnt right?
And if I ever find the key you hide so well,
Will you tell me that I can spend the night?

Leavin your smell on my coat, leavin your taste on my shoulder
I still fail to understand what it is about this woman.

If I could bottle up the chills that you give me
I would keep them in a jar next to my bed
And If I should ever draw a picture of a woman
It is you that would come flowing from my pen

Leavin your clothes on the floor, making me walk out the door
And I still fail to understand what it is about this woman

Helplessly melting as I stand next to the sun
As she burns me, I am screaming out for more
Drink every drop of liquid heat that I've become
Pop me open, spoon me out on to the floor

Leaving your smell on my coat, leaving your taste on my shoulder,
I still fail to understand, fail to understand
Leaving your smell on my coat, leaving your taste on my shoulder
I still fail to understand what it is about this woman
